Deepika Padukone reveals details about her next production- Mahabharata

Deepika Padukone will be debuting as a producer with her next film titled Chhapaak. Even before the release of her first production, the actress is all ready for her next production. In an interview with the tabloid, Deepika Padukone revealed that her next production will be the Mahabharata narrated from Draupadi's point of view. When asked whether it will be a love story or in the mythological space, she said that it is not so much about the female perspective as it is about different perspectives. Deepika said that they can only think of further details once a director is on board.

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago Indian- American author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni had sold the rights of her book, The Palace of Illusions to adapt into a film. While there were no reports as to who purchased the rights, the plot of Deepika's next production and the plot of the book are similar as both narrate Mahabharata from Draupadi's point of view.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Chhapaak, which is slated to release on January 10. The film is based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. The film also stars Vikrant Massey. Aside from this movie, she also features in '83 alongside hubby Ranveer. Deepika recently announced that she will be starring in Shakun Batra’s next directorial. The actress for the first time will be paired opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi. The film also stars Ananya Panday.

NCB arrests Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of cocaine

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested actor Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of drugs, on August 29. On Saturday, August 28, the actor's residence was raided after which the same evening, he was taken to NCB office for questioning. According to the reports, on Saturday, a team of the anti-drugs agency had intercepted one major drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh. He was in possession of illegal drugs. The same day, the agency launched a follow up operation after interrogation of Singh. Following his inputs, the agency headed to Armaan Kohli's house. As per reports, a small quantity of cocaine was recovered. Armaan Kohli was arrested in 2018 by the Excise department. He was caught possessing 41 bottles of scotch whiskey at his residence which was against the law. On the work front, Armaan Kohli has worked in films like Jaani Dushman and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo . Dwayne Johnson to reunite with Jumanji director Jake Kasdan for Christmas-themed adventure movie Red One

Filmmaker Jake Kasdan is reuniting with his Jumanji star Dwayne Johnson for Red One , the unique Christmas-themed feature project set up at Amazon. Hiram Garcia, the President of production of Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions created the original story which is now being translated into a script by Chris Morgan, who previously worked with Johnson on four Fast and Furious movies as well as the Johnson-led 2019 spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw . According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon picked up the project in June. The details are being kept in the sack but Red One , which is a tentative title, is described by Amazon as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Johnson is attached to star, possibly even as Santa himself, and is producing with his Seven Bucks Productions cohorts, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
