As Parineeti Chopra shoots for Saina Nehwal's biopic, the badminton star starts political career by joining BJP

Ace badminton player and Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Wednesday, the ace player joined the current ruling party in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP and BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh. Nehwal’s older sister Chandranshu was also inducted into the party.

Meanwhile, a biopic on Saina Nehwal's journey in sports in currently underway in Bollywood. Actress Parineeti Chopra will be playing the role of the badminton star. Amole Gupte had announced his ambitious directorial - a biopic, produced by T-series on the life of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal around four years ago. The makers had initially roped in Shraddha Kapoor for the role who had even started prepping for the role. However, the actress had to back out owing to a hectic schedule and was replaced by Parineeti Chopra.

Joining the BJP, Saina Nehwal said, “I am a very hardworking and I love hardworking persons. I can see Prime Minister Narendra Modi does so much for the country, I want to do something for the country with him.”

Meanwhile, the film captures Saina's journey to World No.1, traveling across countries and locations, raising a toast to the several milestones in her sporting career. The makers are expecting to finish shooting for the film soon enough. However, only time will tell if the makers plan to incorporate this new venture of Saina Nehwal's life.

NCB arrests Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of cocaine

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested actor Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of drugs, on August 29. On Saturday, August 28, the actor's residence was raided after which the same evening, he was taken to NCB office for questioning. According to the reports, on Saturday, a team of the anti-drugs agency had intercepted one major drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh. He was in possession of illegal drugs. The same day, the agency launched a follow up operation after interrogation of Singh. Following his inputs, the agency headed to Armaan Kohli's house. As per reports, a small quantity of cocaine was recovered. Armaan Kohli was arrested in 2018 by the Excise department. He was caught possessing 41 bottles of scotch whiskey at his residence which was against the law. On the work front, Armaan Kohli has worked in films like Jaani Dushman and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo . Dwayne Johnson to reunite with Jumanji director Jake Kasdan for Christmas-themed adventure movie Red One

Filmmaker Jake Kasdan is reuniting with his Jumanji star Dwayne Johnson for Red One , the unique Christmas-themed feature project set up at Amazon. Hiram Garcia, the President of production of Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions created the original story which is now being translated into a script by Chris Morgan, who previously worked with Johnson on four Fast and Furious movies as well as the Johnson-led 2019 spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw . According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon picked up the project in June. The details are being kept in the sack but Red One , which is a tentative title, is described by Amazon as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Johnson is attached to star, possibly even as Santa himself, and is producing with his Seven Bucks Productions cohorts, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
