Same-sex marriage called off in Ekta Kapoor’s series His Storry

As per plans, the gay couple in the new series His Storyy played by Satyadeep Mishra and Mrinal Dutt were supposed to get married at the end of Season 1 which started streaming this week. The marriage was called off. And here is why: the producers Alt-Balaji and DING got cold feet about showing a same-sex marriage.

One of the actors tells me, “Considering the way things are at the moment in our country I am relieved that marriage didn’t actually happen. The plan was to end season 1 with a Big Fat wedding showing Kunal (Satydeep Mishra) and Preet (Mrinal Dutt) tying the knot. But I think the producers chickened out, at least for this season.”

Apparently the marriage may happen in Season 2, provided the atmosphere of intolerance that prevails in the country, dims down. “Otherwise Season 2 may not happen at all,” informs the actor.

His Storyy is the coming-out story of Kunal (Satyadeep Mishra) happily married to Sakshi (Priyamani) for twenty years when Kunal comes out gay with a food blogger Preet (Mrinal Dutt).

Praise has been conferred on the series for its tasteful aesthetic presentation of a sensitive subject. It’s a pity that the makers had to pull back at the last minute leaving the same-sex couple’s relationship without the marital culmination that it deserves.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested actor Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of drugs, on August 29. On Saturday, August 28, the actor's residence was raided after which the same evening, he was taken to NCB office for questioning. According to the reports, on Saturday, a team of the anti-drugs agency had intercepted one major drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh. He was in possession of illegal drugs. Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi thriller with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan to go on floors around June-July

Telugu film director Nag Ashwin is best known for his National Award winning film Mahanati that starred Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Akkineni. Now, the filmmaker is getting ready for his next big pan-India project which will star Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. The film was announced last year and currently Nag is working on the pre-production of the film. The project, like many others, got delayed due to the pandemic. However, talking to a tabloid, Nag Ashwin said that he has been fine tuning the script and logistics. He also had his round of meetings with all three leads separately. He said that pre-production has been going on for a long time and that they will take the film on floors in June-July.
