Shooter dadi Chandro Tomar succumbs to COVID-19; Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar express grief

India is currently facing the worst of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid this, octogenarian shooter Chandro Tomar, nicknamed Shooter Dadi has succumbed to COVID-19. She was hospitalised two days back when she complained of difficulty in breathing. However, earlier today, she passed away.

Chandro is believed to be the oldest woman sharpshooter in the world. She picked up the gun when she was in her 60s. Her life was also translated on screen in the form of the Hindi film Saand Ki Aankh which came out in 2019. Bhumi Pednekar essayed the role of Chandro Tomar while Taapsee Pannu essayed the role of Chandro’s sister Prakashi Tomar who was also a shooter.

On learning about the demise, both Taapsee and Bhumi expressed grief through social media. Sharing a happy picture with Chandro Tomar, Taapsee wrote, “For the inspiration you will always be... You will live on forever in all the girls you gave hope to live. My cutest rockstar May the ✌???? and peace be with you”.


Meanwhile, Bhumi wrote, "Devastated by the news of Chandro Dadi’s demise. Feels like a part of me is gone. She made her own rules & paved the path for many girl to find their dream. Her legacy will live on in them. Condolences to the family. Am lucky I got to know and be her."


Chandro, along with her sister Prakashi Tomar participated in several competitions. Shooter Dadi won many awards in the senior citizen category including Stri Shakti Sanman presented by the President of India himself.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested actor Armaan Kohli for illegal possession of drugs, on August 29. On Saturday, August 28, the actor's residence was raided after which the same evening, he was taken to NCB office for questioning. According to the reports, on Saturday, a team of the anti-drugs agency had intercepted one major drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh. He was in possession of illegal drugs. The same day, the agency launched a follow up operation after interrogation of Singh. Following his inputs, the agency headed to Armaan Kohli's house. As per reports, a small quantity of cocaine was recovered. Armaan Kohli was arrested in 2018 by the Excise department. Dwayne Johnson to reunite with Jumanji director Jake Kasdan for Christmas-themed adventure movie Red One

Filmmaker Jake Kasdan is reuniting with his Jumanji star Dwayne Johnson for Red One , the unique Christmas-themed feature project set up at Amazon. Hiram Garcia, the President of production of Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions created the original story which is now being translated into a script by Chris Morgan, who previously worked with Johnson on four Fast and Furious movies as well as the Johnson-led 2019 spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw . According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon picked up the project in June. The details are being kept in the sack but Red One , which is a tentative title, is described by Amazon as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Johnson is attached to star, possibly even as Santa himself, and is producing with his Seven Bucks Productions cohorts, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
